Japan has always held a special place in John's heart. For the people of Japan, the last week has been nothing short of armageddon for the people there. The "Fukushima 50" are heros who man the atomic power station trying to get the cooling rods to cool down with auxilery power, are being bombarded with doses of radiation they are not likely to survive. (the equivilent of 10,000 x-rays per hour) They were the first to know this, and were aware of this when they made the decision not to evacuate with the rest of the people. These people are among the brightest engineers of their time. They have made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us.
IF THE PLANT GOES UP IT WILL BE WORSE THAN CHURNOBLE!! Friends of John have rased and donated $1000 dollars today. We sent it directly to the red cross. The province of B.C. sent $500,000 dollars so far. We hope you will think for just a moment about the 50 brave people dying there tonight. All the money in the world wont save them now. However, their families, their infrastructure, fresh water.. Shelter.. get the picture? Don't let this be the time you turn your back on our brothers and sisters in their most desperate hour. One day we will all face an insurmountable obstical. We will need help. Will you be able to hold your head high and accept the assistance with a knowledge that if the tables were turned, you would help? Many people have donated to help this site exist over the years. We thank you. We thank you all. We are asking you do not donate to us, but make a donation to the red cross instead. Do not donate to email solicitations ever.
